Flights 1C and 1D of the 2020 Card Player Poker Tour Ocean’s 11 San Diego Classic are now in the books. A total of 491 entries have now been made through the first four starting flights of this tournament, which means the prize pool has grown to $98,200. There are now just two $250 buy-in starting flights remaining, with day 2 direct buy-in also available.

The tournament features the main event with 7 legs and a guaranteed $150,000 in prize pool money.

This event once again features a $150,000 estimated prize pool but has previously drawn as many as 949 entries to create a prize pool worth nearly a quarter of a million dollars.

The most recent running of this tournament drew 926 entries back in July of 2019. Brazilian poker pro Mateus Lessa emerged victorious in the end, earning $43,120 as the champion.

Friday’s flight 1C saw a total of 134 entries made, while flight 1D added another 128. With 229 entries from the first two starting flights, the total number has now grown to 491. A total of 31 players moved on from flights 1C and 1D, with the largest stack belonging to Adam Demerssmen (747,000). The top 12 percent of players from each starting flight have qualified for day 2, locking up at least a $400 payday in this event in the process.

There are still two starting flights remaining in this tournament. Players will also be able to take advantage of the popular Quantum Tournament structure of this event and buy-in on Day 2 for $1,500. Those who exercise this option will receive 210,000 in tournament chips, with the blinds starting at 2,000-3,000 with a 3,000 big blind ante for the beginning of day 2 at 12:00 p.m. local time on Sunday, Jan. 26.
